Molly Myths - Schools Out

A lovely little project I had involvement with for RTE television to mark the end of the school year and the beginning of summer.  Here are a few examples of location designs I created to help bring life to the world for Molly.   

DuckTales - Style Exploration

'DuckTales' is one of the coolest shows on TV.  It really reminds me of the old Warner Bro style that Maurice Noble helped pioneer but with additional elements that give the impression that we are looking at a comic book.  This style inspired me to break down and recreate one of its backgrounds to figure out how each of the elements fit together.  Having recreated the brushes and half-tone / paper textures, I managed to mimic the final comic look of the show.

Colour Exploration Thumbnails

A little colour exploration by trying out different vibrant harmonies while at the same time focusing on composition. Many of these samples portray certain moods and may be the springboard in developing interesting and striking visual concepts.  The options are endless.  

 

Don Quixote Concept Sketches

Here are some story sketches I created while attending Jim Capobianco's workshop.  Jim is a story artist at Pixar.  Thank you Jim for sharing your knowledge and expertise.  These sketches are based on the infamous novel "Don Quixote".
